Job Overview
As a Tube Welder Technician, you will be responsible for performing precision welding and assembly work while ensuring that all products meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements.
The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent workmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently within a fast-paced production environment. Every completed product must meet strict inspection standards before being released for delivery.
You will also play an important role in maintaining production efficiency by following approved welding procedures, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring compliance with workplace safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following:
– Perform manual welding of small-bore 316 stainless steel tubes for production, engineering projects, maintenance work, and customer-specific assemblies.
– Execute welding activities according to approved welding procedures, engineering specifications, and customer requirements.
– Assemble custom hose products involving hose cutting, connector installation, hose crimping, hydrostatic pressure testing, leak testing, flushing, and final inspection.
– Read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication blueprints, weld maps, assembly instructions, technical documentation, process sheets, and work orders.
– Ensure all welding work is completed accurately, efficiently, and according to established quality standards.
– Conduct visual inspections of welds to identify defects such as cracks, porosity, incomplete fusion, distortion, or dimensional inaccuracies.
– Perform dimensional verification using appropriate measuring tools and inspection equipment.
– Maintain accurate production records, welding logs, inspection reports, material traceability documents, and quality control documentation.
– Operate welding machines, fabrication equipment, hand tools, measuring instruments, and testing devices safely and efficiently.
– Carry out routine equipment inspections and report machine abnormalities to supervisors.
– Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations through proper implementation of 5S housekeeping practices.
– Follow company policies regarding workplace safety, environmental protection, and quality management systems.
– Work closely with Engineering Services, Production, Planning, Warehouse, and Quality Assurance departments to ensure smooth workflow and timely project completion.
– Support process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing productivity, improving product quality, reducing waste, and enhancing workplace efficiency.
– Assist in solving technical issues encountered during production while ensuring minimal disruption to manufacturing schedules.
– Participate in team meetings, technical discussions, and workplace improvement programs whenever required.
Required Qualifications
Applicants should possess the following qualifications:
– Minimum 2–3 years of practical experience in welded assembly within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
– Proven experience welding small-bore 316 stainless steel tubing.
– ITE Technical Certificate, Engineering Diploma, Welding Qualification, or equivalent technical certification.
– Experience with custom hose assembly processes, including cutting, connector installation, crimping, hydrostatic testing, and inspection.
– Ability to interpret engineering drawings, fabrication blueprints, technical specifications, and welding procedures.
– Familiarity with industrial fabrication methods and quality inspection techniques.
– Good understanding of workplace safety standards and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
– Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
– Ability to work independently and effectively within a team environment.
– Good communication skills and willingness to learn new manufacturing technologies.
