Position Overview

 

The Preschool General Cleaner / Housekeeper plays an important role in ensuring that the preschool remains clean, hygienic, organized, and safe for children, teachers, staff, and visitors. You will be responsible for maintaining classrooms, toilets, dining areas, offices, playground surroundings, and other common facilities according to the preschool’s cleanliness and hygiene standards.

 

A clean learning environment contributes significantly to children’s health, safety, and overall learning experience. As part of the housekeeping team, your daily work will help create a welcoming atmosphere where children can learn, play, and develop in a healthy environment.

 

This position is suitable for candidates with previous housekeeping experience as well as individuals who are willing to learn. Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided for successful applicants.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

– Clean classrooms before and after school sessions.

– Sweep, mop, vacuum, and disinfect all classroom floors.

– Dust and clean tables, chairs, cabinets, shelves, windows, and other furniture.

– Clean and sanitize toilets, wash basins, mirrors, doors, and restroom facilities.

– Refill soap dispensers, tissue paper, hand sanitizers, and other hygiene supplies.

– Wash, disinfect, and organize children’s toys, books, and learning materials.

– Clean teachers’ offices, meeting rooms, corridors, reception areas, and common spaces.

– Maintain cleanliness in dining areas before and after meal times.

– Assist with cleaning after classroom activities, arts and crafts sessions, and special events.

– Empty rubbish bins and dispose of waste according to workplace procedures.

– Separate recyclable materials where required.

– Monitor cleaning supplies and report shortages to supervisors.

– Report maintenance issues, damaged equipment, or safety hazards promptly.

– Ensure all cleaning equipment is stored properly after use.

– Follow workplace health, hygiene, and safety procedures at all times.

– Support other housekeeping duties assigned by supervisors when necessary.

Candidate Requirements

– Physically fit and capable of performing cleaning duties.
