PRESCHOOL EDUCATOR – CHINESE LANGUAGE
Location: Islandwide, Singapore
Employment Type: Full Time
Working Days: 5 Days per Week
Salary: SGD 3,000–4,000 per Month
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a dedicated, responsible and passionate Preschool Educator who is able to teach in the Chinese Language and work with young children in a preschool environment.
The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting children’s learning, development and overall well-being. You will be responsible for planning and conducting suitable educational programmes, maintaining a positive classroom environment and working closely with parents and other teaching staff.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Plan, supervise and implement educational programmes according to the centre’s policies, curriculum and teaching framework.
• Prepare and conduct age-appropriate learning activities that support children’s cognitive, social, emotional, physical and language development.
• Prepare creative and suitable teaching aids, classroom materials and activities to encourage children to participate actively in learning.
• Create a stimulating, pleasant and engaging classroom environment that encourages curiosity, creativity and learning.
• Observe, monitor and accurately record each child’s learning progress and developmental milestones.
• Identify individual learning and developmental needs and provide appropriate support where required.
• Complete children’s progress reports for each semester and maintain developmental portfolios for individual children.
• Maintain regular communication with parents regarding the child’s well-being, behaviour, development and learning progress.
• Check and respond appropriately to information and comments provided by parents through the Parent-Teacher Communication Booklet.
• Build and maintain positive, respectful and professional relationships with parents and families.
• Take responsibility for classroom management and ensure that daily routines are carried out effectively.
• Ensure the safety, health, cleanliness and hygiene of children throughout the school day.
• Work closely with other educators and teaching staff to ensure effective classroom operations and quality learning experiences.
• Participate in centre activities, events and programmes when required.
• Maintain accurate classroom records and documentation.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities related to preschool education as assigned by the centre.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education or Diploma in Early Childhood Education.
• Relevant Early Childhood Care and Education certifications such as DPT, CPT, DPL or ACEY.
• Candidates with Fundamentals or Certificate in Preschool Teaching may also be considered for relevant educator or para-educator positions.
• Minimum 1 year of teaching experience in a childcare centre or preschool environment.
• Experience working with young children and understanding of early childhood development.
• Good classroom management and organisational skills.
• Patient, responsible and understanding when working with children.
• Passionate about teaching and supporting children’s development.
• Able to communicate effectively with children, parents and colleagues.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with other teaching staff.
• First Aid Certification will be an advantage.
