As an Assistant Manager, you will work closely with the Restaurant Manager to ensure smooth daily operations while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, customer satisfaction, safety, and operational excellence.

 

Position Overview

 

The F&B Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting in the overall management of restaurant operations during assigned shifts. The successful candidate will supervise daily activities, lead restaurant crew members, maintain excellent customer service standards, monitor operational performance, and ensure compliance with company policies and Singapore food safety regulations.

 

You will play an important role in achieving restaurant sales targets, improving operational efficiency, developing team members, and creating a positive dining experience for every customer. This role requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, excellent organizational abilities, and the capability to make decisions confidently in a dynamic working environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Manage daily restaurant operations and ensure smooth workflow throughout each shift.

 

Supervise and coordinate restaurant employees to deliver efficient and friendly customer service.

 

Maintain high standards of food quality, food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and restaurant cleanliness.

 

Ensure compliance with company operating procedures and Singapore food safety regulations.

 

Monitor labour scheduling to achieve productivity and operational efficiency.

 

Control food costs, operational expenses, and minimize food wastage.

 

Monitor inventory levels and ensure adequate stock availability for daily operations.

 

Coordinate with suppliers and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of products and supplies.

 

Conduct daily shift briefings and communicate operational objectives clearly to team members.

 

Coach, motivate, and develop restaurant crew members to improve performance and service quality.

 

Assist with recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and training of new employees.

 

Evaluate employee performance and provide constructive feedback for continuous improvement.

 

Handle customer enquiries, resolve complaints professionally, and ensure customer satisfaction.

 

Ensure accurate cash handling, daily sales reconciliation, and proper financial procedures.

 

Monitor restaurant equipment and report maintenance issues when necessary.

 

Maintain workplace safety standards and ensure employees follow all health and safety procedures.

 

Assist the Restaurant Manager in achieving monthly sales, productivity, and profitability targets.

 

Prepare operational reports, inventory reports, labour reports, and other management documentation.

 

Support promotional campaigns, marketing activities, and new product launches implemented by the company.

 

Foster a positive, professional, and collaborative working environment among all team members.

 

 

Working Hours

 

This position operates on a rotating shift schedule of approximately 8 to 10 hours per day depending on operational requirements.

 

Restaurant operating hours are generally between 6:00 AM and 2:00 AM. Candidates must be flexible to work morning, afternoon, evening, overnight, weekends, public holidays, and overtime when required.

 

Physical Requirements

 

Applicants should be physically fit and capable of working in an active restaurant environment.

 

Responsibilities may include:

 

Standing and walking for extended periods throughout the workday.

 

Performing cleaning and sanitation duties.

 

Lifting, carrying, and moving products weighing approximately 15–20 kilograms.

 

Working efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high service standards.

 

 

Candidate Requirements

 

Applicants should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

 

Previous experience in Food & Beverage, Hospitality, Restaurant Operations, Retail Management, or Customer Service is preferred.

 

Supervisory or management experience will be considered an advantage.

 

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
